The New US Woman
The truth is that YHVH is a tetragrammaton including the feminine, not a male-only trinity which was created in 200 AD. Four letters symbolize the Godhead: Y stands for Father, H stands for Mother, V stands for Son and H stands for the often overlooked daughter. Jesus was a priest "in the manner of Melchizadek" who acknowledged and honored Mother God as well as Father God. ABBA is a combination of the male "aleph" [A] and the female "bet" [B] from which we get our alphabet, our language, also called "The Word!" For too long women have been sidelined, placed in secondary status, disenfranchised both socially and economically. The Bible, however, does not tell women to be passive and subservient; quite the contrary! The Bible has a story in every book that shows us the figure of a strong woman in action, pursing justice. For instance, take the story of Puah and Shiprah; they defied Pharoah's order at much risk, as did Pharoah's own daughter! We are to oppose today's modern "Pharoah's" who ask us to do unthinkable things too! This undeniable thread of activism at the hands of women continues even stronger into the New Testament where Mary Magdalene becomes the apostle to the apostles and countless women preach in home-based churches, in spite of persecution from traditionalists. We are called to look risk in the face and pursue social justice until we attain it. These stories will never be told from the pulpit because men, quite frankly, control the church and will not allow them to be heard. I want you to know these stories as well as you know those about Moses and Abraham. You deserve to know the hundreds of women who have waited centuries for just such a moment in history, to be resurrected... Redacted, No Longer!...guiding the way to an egalitarian, peaceful society when no gender domination exists.
